Anyone familiar with the legendary Deadboys singer STIV BATORS may still be confused as to how his later band The LORDS of the NEW CHURCH could have possible reunited in 2002 without the late BATORS, who died after a car hit him in Paris in 1991.
NOW IT CAN BE LEARNED!!
The story of how a wealthy 38 yr old yuppie from Jacksonville, Florida, hijacked THE LORDS of the NEW CHURCH band trademarks and logo in an attempt to seek his own instant celebrity and play "Gothstar".
A simple Trademark search reveals one STEVEN BLANKFIELD "MARQUE" as having ownership to the name and licensing official LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH merchandise for his own personal gain.
Although founding members Brian James of the Damned and Dave Tregunna of Sham 69 attempted to salvage the hijacking, STEVEN MARQUE's well financed legal strategies and grave lack of talent effortlessly drove the last nail into BATOR's sad legacy.
Exhibit A - One under produced and unsigned 2003 LORDS of the NEW CHURCH "Hang On" CD.... in which MARQUE's vocal tracks are poorly dubbed over the band making an honest run at it with LUSTKILLERS' vocalist Adam Beevare.
Why two singers appear on the CD is not as much a question as why Steven MARQUE's vocals appear at all.
The answer is MARQUE's ownership of that which was never his, THE LORDS infamous Dagger logo and band Trademarks.
It all began in 2001 when MARQUE approached Brian James with the offer of posting an official LORDS of the NEW CHURCH website. MARQUE quickly learned the trademarks to be used were no longer protected due to laws of abandoment and ceased the moment to make them his own.
Despite endless scathing reviews of MARQUE's rare 3 song live European appearances with THE LORDS, he continues to police and license THE LORDS and merchandise as his own cutting founders James and Tregunna clearly out of any said profits.

Up till two weeks ago I had thousands of people on SiNDADDY's Myspace account. I started it in September of 04. And NO, i wasn't spamming it to death, we have been going for 6 years and just finished our fourth one, so people found us.
ANYWAY-
I had been picking on Steven a LOT cuz he's such a geek and he spams the world to death and he just has NO TALENT. This went on for a bit. With his constant threats of legal BS...
DUDE, I'm not doing anything illegal by telling them how bad they suck online.
SO, we had gotten to a point where SiNDADDY was on top of both 'industrial' charts (2nd to NIN on one of them- first on the other) - dude finally got sick of seeing his spamming being taken out by REAL TALENT that he finally made a bunch of lying complaints like people in my band were THREATENING HIS LIFE and shit, and SiNDADDY's account got BOOTED!!!!!!!!!!!
SiNDADDY is this guy's prime enemy on Myspace, and we have recently come back to do it again.
